Visit with Dad

This is what I put on the Hunt family web page so I hope it works here to.

Tonight Jon, I, and three of our children were able to go see my Dad. When we got there we had a Lady meet us at the door which does not usally happen. I told her that we were here to see Dale and she said that they were there to do a service project. She said that some of the girls that she was with had a present for Dad and that they would bring it in later. They had also brought cookies and hot chocolate for all of the visitors that came. Dad had not wanted to go down so we found him in his room. As we were visiting with him the girls did come with a Christmas stocking filled with some things. There was a teddy bear that he let Karissa have. It is really cute and she is sleeping with it tonight. Also a calender which had dogs on it and so he said I would like it more than him so I could have it. Then there was a pair of socks, body wash, some candy, bar of soap, and some chips that he let Alex have. It was really fun to be there when he was able to smile at getting a Christmas present. I had to tease him about not wanting a Teddy bear he had to laugh about that. I am just really happy that we finally get a Christmas with my Dad it has been a long time. It seems that he get a little better and a little better every time that I see him. Ben was able to go see him yesterday and found out that he had been out of his bed to two programs which he has not done since he has been there. Miracles can really happen even if we don't even understand for some time. Thank you for all the prayers that have helped bring Dad home.

Hello

I thought that I would just write a little note. Our family is doing pretty well. Kya got her licence and she is doing pretty good at the driving thing. It is still hard for me to let her drive all the time. All we still have is our two cars so Jon and I have them most of the time. We got a Yukon in July so we are trying to pay that off before we are able to help her or get her something to drive. She tried to drive the Shadow that Lea use to drive but it did not work for her being a stick. It is hard for me to think of her as a Senior which she will be next year and graduate in 2008. She is keeping her grades up and also teaching with our dance teacher one day a week so that gives her a little spending cash.
Kira is doing very well in school also this is her first time in a different school that being Canyon View Middle School in the 6 th grade. She is also playing the clarinet this year and sounds really great on it. I think that she likes it and it keeps her busy. She is taking dance and really likes it.
Karina is in the 5th grade and likes it. She is on the smaller side so I worry about her going to the Middle School next year but maybe she will have a growth spurt this summer and be ok. She also is doing well. She takes dance on the same day as Kira she seems to like it this year she took a year off last year.
Kassidy is already in the 3rd grade to me that is just to fast. I guess they are all growing up to fast but she seems to young to be in the 3rd grade. She is doing well and seems to have a fun time. This past few months she has had a Student teacher that is from out in Beryl. Ginger Boshard she said I think that I know your Grandma and family so Kassidy thought that was fun that she knew her family.
Karissa is doing good. She seems to have a mind of her own so she has been sent to the Principle's office once this year which was kind of not her fault but she got blamed for it. But hopefully she learned her lesson and we won't have to have that happen again. She is doing really well with her school work even with an attitude.
Then we have Alex. He is my buddy every day and is really fun. Sometimes he get really sick of me but most of the time we get along. He will be having his real birthday this coming February on the 29th. So he will be 4 even if he is really going to be just 1. It is really weird to not have a real birthday every year. This is the year that we have parties for the kids so that will be fun to have a big party for him. He is trying to learn his letters in his name and is doing pretty well. He also likes to play with his best friends and cousins.
Boxie is getting bigger. I did not know if I was going to get use to having a indoor dog but now I don't know what I would do without him running around even if he comes in muddy and has to have many baths. Part of our back yard is just dirt right now and that is going to be the first thing that we fix next summer or even spring if we can. He is really fun most of the time and is doing a few tricks that he has learned.
Jon and I are just trying to keep up with growing kids running here and there and going to all of the school things. It is pretty fun but some times we feel pretty crazy or at least I do. I am still in the Primary and it is going well. The program that we work on all year is today ( Dec 9th)and I know that it will go really well we have wonderful children in our ward. I have a slide show that I work on all year taking pictures at different activities I think that the children are going to like it and Jon also helped me make copies so that I could give them all a DVD to watch. I think they are going to have fun with it.
Jon is still playing his racquetball game when ever possible and liking it very much. He also is always a work working hard to support us I am very blessed and very spoiled to have such a great Man to take care of me and my wonderful children.

I guess that this is also a Merry Christmas wish out to all. Also the best for the new year.

Last Week of School

I can't believe that is this the last week of school then finals!! I only have one Semester left. I really can't believe I have made it this far! I am just going to be working on stuff to hand in this week then I will have to study really hard for the Food Science Lab because I am thinking it is going to be pretty difficult but I am way excited to be done! We are also getting ready to move in to Christy's house so next week after finals I am going to be going through stuff to get rid of and packing up. We won't be moving in until the last week however because my mother-in-law need a place to stay when they come down. Also Jeremiah and Dano are coming home for Christmas so that is exciting we will get to see them and almost all of the family will be together for the Christmas season. That is about all for my news this time. Love ya all, Lea

Shopping Fun

So Mom and I had all kinds of adventures last week with the sales and for the most part I think I did ok at not spending too much, but that is yet to be determined.  I got myself a new Playstation 3 and I might have a buyer for my old one.  If I can make that sale I will have gotten a pretty good deal on a bunch of blu ray movies and quite a few of them are ones that I am excited to have.  I may get the guy that is buying the system to take some of the ones I am less enthusiastic about and that way make up a little more of the cost of the upgrade.  Otherwise I am excited to be mostly done with holiday shopping and not too much poorer for it.

A post I found on the latest Berly thing.

This is about the two people they found out in Beryl I like to read the Posts sometimes they are funny but this is out of the world funny.

I think Beryl is creepy. We looked at property out there two years ago, but I looked around and knew that I couldn't look out my window every morning to Beryl. It's like the twilight zone or something. That's what it reminds me of. A place where an alien space craft crashed years ago and aliens took over the bodies of the residents.

Thanksgiving Time!

Well it is time for me to post again. I just took the PLT and Content Knowledge test for teaching. Wow did it ever wipe me out! I was so stressed, I hate standardized testing the older I get the more test anxiety I have! Anyway I think I did alright but we will see, I just so hope I don't have to take it again because I wouldn't be able to sit there and take it again it had so many essay questions to write and it was definately a crunch for time. But I survived and here I am. I am starting to get a sore throat though it is crazy every time I am super stressed about something and then right after when my body is relaxed it says come one germs feed on me. But I am going to fight it and do the "secret" remedy which of course is secret but I will tell you cause I trust you all (it is .....cayenne, salt and lemon juice) it does wonders I was skeptic at first as well but I tried it and I am a soul believer. (ha ha) Anyway back to the real reason I wanted to post. I was reading Abe's blog about being grateful and I thought what a great opportunity to let you know the things that I am gateful for.....I am grateful for a mom that loves us ALL so much that she would do anything and everything she could to help us, a mom that is so selfless that she would sacrifice everything for us to be happy, safe, and well, a mom that loves us all unconditionally and takes care of us better than anyone I know (besides Heavenly Father and Jesus of course) but you know anyone here on Earth. I am thankful for family that unites in time of need and is there just to lean on and be a ear to listen to, I am thankful for family that is there to be my friends and ones that I love to be with, I am thankful for each other so we don't have to alone,I am thankful for family because the just the simple fact that I love them so much, I am thankful for in-laws because they are more than just that they were meant to be a part of your family all along, I am thankful for love in general and the power that it has, I am thankful for wonderful nieces and nephews that always bring such joy into my life, I am thankful for such a loving husband that can put up with my childish ways and love me for who I am, and helps me to be a better person, I am thankful for the Gospel and the truth and joy that it brings into each and everyone of our lives, I am thankful for Christ and the power and indivdual meaning of the atonement, one thing that I am really thankful is the thought and the truth that families can be forever and that those that are sad right now can be together with those they love someday, I know I could go on and on but I better stop because this is getting really long and like you all want to hear my big long.....thankful list. I just want you to all know that I love you so much and I thankful to be a part of this family! Love Lee

Semis fatally crush woman in I-15 jam
The Salt Lake Tribune
Article Last Updated: 11/11/2007 03:37:06 AM MST

An Enoch woman died Saturday when her passenger car was sandwiched between two semitrailer trucks during a highway traffic jam. Wendy McDonald, 35, was driving her passenger car in congested northbound traffic on Interstate 15 near Cedar City about 7 p.m. when one semi crashed into her car from behind, said Utah State Trooper Lt. Steve Winward. The first semi pushed the car into a second semi, partly ejecting McDonald from the vehicle. Troopers aren't sure whether she was wearing a seat belt. An unrelated collision farther north on the freeway caused the original traffic jam, Winward said. - Erin Alberty

air show

Saturday 11/10/07 went to Nellis Air Show. Had a great time. Highlight of the day was to be able to step into a B24 Liberator, similar to the one grandpa flew in during the war. We thought that this was a very fitting sight. Coincidence?
Have other pictures from inside can post if want or will just show late. The air show as be great fun the last two years. First meeting a man to interview grandpa last year and then getting to go in the same type of plane this year.

Life the Universe and Stuff

Well Jane and I are doing pretty well lately.  Gwen has been sick this week and has been wearing Jane out, but I think we are going to make it through the illness alright.  Thanks to mom for letting Jane and Gwen visit so much I know it helps her to stay sane and helps me to have a sane wife.  I have posted some more comments about things on my blog and my group blog.  Things are going well though and we are just going to "Keep Moving Forward"

Tithing

Tonight we had a short family home evening lesson on tithing. Then I came down to check my email and what do you think I found.

Gems on the Family Teaching Our Children about Tithing---------------------------------------------------"Too often we as parents do not teach and encourage our children to live this law because their contribution only amounts to a few cents. But without a testimony of tithing, they are vulnerable. In their teenage years, they become attracted to clothes, entertainment, and expensive possessions and risk losing the special protection that tithing provides."(Robert D. Hales "Tithing: A Test of Faith with Eternal Blessings," Ensign, Nov. 2002, 28-29)

Weekly Update!

This weekend it was our Church side Girls weekend out. It turned out to be a lot of fun! We went to Manti and it ended up be My Mother-in-law, and two of my sister-in-laws. We went out to eat Friday night at a Mexican restaurant, then went home and vegged and watch Calamity Jane and Anne of Green Gables. It is fun because they all just make a big fuss when I would say that I haven't seen certain movies mostly the older ones. They are great movies I would have to say. Those ones we watched were great!. Then the next day we went shopping and it was a lot of fun! We went to this home decor store called Tai Pan wow did they have all your decorating and more than you could want. I loved it though it was great! It was so fun to look at all the stuff. Mom was telling me there is one in St. George. We got to go to a Women's Expo to that was fun to experience. We got to eat at Olive Garden that night which was really good! Then we went home and watched more Anne of Green Gables. I got this crazy idea to dye my hair so low and behold we dyed it red (I guess too much Anne of Green Gables) ha ha ha! My hair is really bright but I think it will grow on me! So this week is a slow down week but I have a lot of studying to do before the PLT so I need to get started on that. Joe is just working away and we are thinking more and more about Police Academy. We are thinking the sooner we get him in there the better. So right now he is just working until I at least finish school then we will go from there. Things are going well though! That is my update for now. Love Lea

The Deer Hunt

Well the deer hunt was fun! We hiked and hiked and hiked some more. We went to Mineral at first Saturday and then Monday we went to where my Brother-in-law Rob hunts on some private property. Joe shot at a big buck and hit it, we followed its blood trail and lost the blood trail after awhile so we never found the deer he shot which is way sad for it. Now it has to die and be wasted. We had so much fun though, and we were way worn out. Joe hunted the next few days and decided to shoot a little two point which we gave to our sister-in-law and we are going to share the meat. It is okay that he got a little one though cause the meat is better. I just need to learn how to be a expert deer cooker.
Well things are going well. I am really liking school and I only have about a month and a 1/2 left for this semester! It is so crazy to thing it just kind of creeped up on me. Next month I take big PLT test so we will see how that goes. I guess that is all for now. I will write more later though. Lea

Subject: Great Conference Moment

Subject: Great Conference Moment

After President Hinckley finished with the sustaining of the officers of the church during the Saturday morning session, Elder Eyring had moved into his new seat on the stand. Unfortunately, they didn't show this on TV, but when President Hinckley turned around, he stood there for a moment looking at Elder Eyring (probably with the little twinkle in his eye), then picked up his cane and "knighted" him on his shoulder and head. Truly one of the funniest things I've ever seen him do. Here's the picture from it. I love how Elder Erying looks just like a little boy....

Update...

Well most know what I am doing because I see them everyday but I think it is fun to post new stuff, so every once in awhile here I am. Well I am half way through the semester! That means there are only about two months left then I am will be student teaching. It is crazy how fast it has all come! I can't believe I will be graduating in May! I never thought I would make it this far. Right now I am just working on getting graduation papers in and I will have to start studying for the PLT test both content and general, so that will be a lot of fun! Hopefully I will pass so I don't have to worry about taking them again! I am loving my Food Science class it is a lot of fun, I actually have a test today in it so hopefully I will do well, I did fairly well on the last two so who knows, I actually learn a lot and it is not all memorization so I really like it!
Two weeks until the deer hunt so Joe is pretty excited for that! I am too actually! I really like the time away to just have fun and camp and enjoy family and standing around the fire. Anyway if any of you want to come even for a little while I would love it! We will be by Mineral which is on the other side of Zion kind of by Kanab. If you want to come let me know and I will tell you how to get there. Joe is just working for his brother enjoying that, the most he can. I think he actually likes it quite a bit. His knee is getting better which is good but I still worry that something is really wrong with it but I just hope it goes completely away.
We are doing well for the most part! And that is our update for now. I will write one again soon! Lea

Birthday Party

Thanks to everyone for the fun birthday party. I was not looking forward to having a party without Grandpa there but he would not have wanted us to be sad. Thanks for the Pizza and cake and watching Alex all day so that Jon and I could just have some quiet time. Hope everyone got enough to eat and hope that we have more fun times like tonight.

Sorry I took my camara to take photos but the battery was dead. May be next time.

Blog Sharing

You can copy the blog address and email it to anyone you want to look at it.
http://www.jhuntfamily.blogspot.com
I sent it to Dee Ann and Drew. I don't know if they have looked at it. That is the way I sent it to Ben the first time also.
I don't know if they can make comments. Abe has to invite people to the blog to be a contributor.
I can have her added.

Hello

Hey, would it be ok if we added Laureve to the blog so that she could read it. I talked with her last night and said I would send her a photo of Boxie but then I thought that she might like to look at the blog. If it is not going to work that is ok. Her email is reveyb@gmail.com.

Dale's parkinson

I got wondering about his rigidity so I looked it up and found this on the front page of this site. Dad didn't ever develop this part. If you want to read more on Parkinson here is the site: http://www.pdf.org/AboutPD/symptoms.cfm
Rigidity: Rigidity, also called increased muscle tone, means stiffness or inflexibility of the muscles. Muscles normally stretch when they move, and then relax when they are at rest. In rigidity, the muscle tone of an affected limb is always stiff and does not relax, sometimes resulting in a decreased range of motion. For example, a person who has rigidity may not be able to swing his or her arms when walking because the muscles are too tight. Rigidity can cause pain and cramping.

Do not call list

On KSL today they had an segment about a rumor that Cell Phones might get unsolicited calls.
It is at this sight http://www.ksl.com/?nid=172&sid=149721

Mom has been getting calls so I went to the donotcall site and I registered hers and my three. It said that they are on for only 5 years. Just thought you would like to know.

Grandpa's book that His Mother kept

This is a little from what Grandpa wrote home to his parents when he was serving in the service.

Sept. 1
“I went into Abilene again today for Sunday school. I was some what unwillingly brought in on the program. While talking about Bear Lake Valley and Idaho to some saints before Sunday school, the superintendent ask me to give one of the 2 ½ minute talks. I never had much time but I had my book with me and based my talk on the 8th chap of 1st Nephi. Imagine me if you can quoting scriptures.”

I will do some from time.

Family Reunion

I survived my family reunion. It turned out quite well. Friday night we just set up tents and had dinner and then spent time around the campfire. Then Saturday we had a treasure hunt for the kids, Joe and others played frisbee golf and we just hung out and enjoyed each others company. Sunday we attempted to go to church but that didn't work out because of miscommunication but everything was good. Then later that day we just hung out and that night we had campfire time where we sung songs, mini talent show, told jokes and had fun. It was good to spend time with the family and it worked out better than I thought. I asked mom when we are going to start family reunions and she said we have them all the time. Ha Ha!
Anyway that is how the weekend went and I am on my second week of school. Things are pretty mellow I don't have to much work yet. I am really glad I took my classes this way because now I don't have tons of work and hard classes all at once it has worked out great! I start the Practicum in two weeks (where I actually go into schools and help out) That is kind of scary to think.....I never thought I would actually make it this far....it was just an idea ha ha!
Joe is going on his boys weekend tonight until Sunday. They are going to Flaming Gorge so I think he is pretty excited. I think it will be great for him he needs a break from all his work he has been doing. Well that is an update on us for this week. Lea

Moon

I thought I would post some of the pictures I took of the moon eclipse. I don't know what they will look like. You can tell I was a little shaky. They are the beginning of the eclipse, when the moon was completely in the shadow it was red and quite dark, and last when the moon was coming back.

Washington Hunt Update

Well Mom mentioned this on Sunday and spent some time getting us on the system. So I thought I would spend sometime getting use to using it. We are just coming to the close of our summer, school starts next Tuesday. Julie has been back to work since last Monday so the kids and I have spend alot of time together and have had fun at the close of the summer. Mom probably pasted on the lost of our 99 carolla. Julie was hit (She is fine.) while coming back from Seatle. Since the car was so old they just gave us money and we went out an bought a new one. We really didn't want another car payment but the next day I was able to take on another class (for more pay) and that will help offset the monthly payments. I have attached a photo of the car I hope is shows up. I hope everyone is enjoying the start of school. Talk to you soon.

Our Family has been busy Thursday August 23, was Karina’s birthday and and Kya was also playing tennis (one game for 3-4 hours) and we also were blessed to bring home a new puppy to our family. I guess we just like to do things all at once. Our new puppy is a snoozer and won’t get to big. He will be our house dog even when I thought that I would never have a house pet. His name is Boxie he is really fun and Alex and him get along really well. It is just like having a newborn but a little better some of the time. Well that is about all for now. Our camara is not working so I will have Mom take a picture and put it on for me.

Ta, Ta for now,

Passed Chemistry!

For those of you who don't know I passed Chemistry! I have started my first week of school and so far it is good. Lots of work, but honestly anything is better than Chemistry by far. I have the block, Food Science, and Content Literacy. I think this will be a good Semester. It is so crazy to think I am Senior in College!
More good news, I get paid $7.20 instead of $6.10 this year so that is so good! Blessings definately come especially when you desperately need them. Even though it is not a lot a little bit makes a big difference and we definately need that money, since we didn't do well at all this summer!
Well Joe is back to work and he said he forgot how tiring and how much work it was, but he is so glad to be back to this job where he is actually doing something and making money.
This weekend we are having our Church family reunion. I think it will be a lot of fun, but possibly a little stressful. We will be up at Deer Valley. I am sure if any of you want to stop buy that would be just fine. It is ending up to be a Steiner, Church, Seegmiller reunion anyway ha ha ha! Anyway I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Yeah, that means no school on Monday! Well I will talk to you all soon! Love Ya

New school year!

Well yesterday August 16th was start of a new year in school. I think that all the kids will have a good year this year. Kya is a Junior, she is very involved in Tennis and Accapella. I just can't believe that one more year and she will be done with High School. Kira is going to do well I think she has a Miss White for her teacher and she is really nice. She is also starting band this year trying out the Clarinet I hope that she likes it. This is her first year in a different school in the 6th grade. Karina has the same teacher for 5th as Kira did so I think she will like it better this year. Last year my Mom and I helped sew up little lap quilts at the end of the school year for Kira's class so we are planning on doing that again this year. Kassidy is starting the 3rd grade and she seems to like her new teacher she is really nice. Then there is Karissa and she has a male teach this year in the 2nd grade. He told them they have never been in the 2nd grade and neither has he so it will be fun for all of them. I hope she keeps liking it. As for Alex he was not very happy when the girls got on the bus and he did not get to go but today was better because he had a friend coming over to play which helped. That is about all the update that I can think of so ta ta for now.

Hello Everybody!

Well I get on here everyday because it is exciting to see what has been posted. So I am depressed when there isn't anything on here so today I decided to post something. Joe and I went to the beach this morning because it was a late day where he doesn't go to work until 2 so we all went down to the beach. I have decided the beach can be so awesome! We took all the body boards and I body boarded most of the time it is so much fun! For those of you that haven't tried it, you should because it is a blast. I decided that that is one of the things that I am really going to miss about being here. Also the beautiful skies at night. So, I guess there are things to miss even though I am way excited to come home. Only 9 more days! Then I start school. I am not really excited for that however......but it will be good to be back.
Well I am also done with my Chemistry class so I have just been hanging out with the wives, which has been a nice break before school starts.
Joe is getting warn out, out here and he is just ready to be back working for his brother. He gets to go on a big fishing trip with his brother and his dad in September and he is really excited about that! He can hardly wait! Well that is the most updated on us. We are just so ready to back so we can start actually making money. Love ya all! Lea

Meteor Showers

I found this at http://stardate.org/nightsky/meteors/
If you want to see the next one it is Oct 12 but there is a moon.
2007 Meteor Showers and Viewing Tips

The next meteor shower is the Perseids on August 12. This year there’s no moonlight to interfere. The best time to watch is from 11 p.m. August 12 until dawn the next morning. The best direction to watch is wherever your sky is darkest. If you have a dark sky, you may see a meteor once a minute on average. The shower is also active for several days before and after its peak.

Thought for the day

Daily GemsUnshakable Faith---------------------------------------------------"The great test of life is to see whether we will hearken to and obeyGod's commands in the midst of the storms of life. It is not to endurestorms, but to choose the right while they rage. And the tragedy of life isto fail in that test and so fail to qualify to return in glory to ourheavenly home. . . . "It will take unshakable faith in the LordJesus Christ to choose the way to eternal life. It is by using that faithwe can know the will of God. It is by acting on that faith we build thestrength to do the will of God. And it is by exercising that faith in JesusChrist that we can resist temptation and gain forgiveness through theAtonement."Topics: purpose of life, trials, faith(Henry B. Dale and Gwen

Dale had to smile at Gwen. We all do. He looks a lot skinnier with his old shirt on. He looks better shaved also.

Zoe's 2nd birthday

We are always partying. She knows what to do with the presents.

Carter's Birthday

We all had fun at Carter's 5th birthday.

I finally figured this out!

Things are great here for Joe and I (that is me being positive mom) Well lets just say things aren't turning out how we expected them to this summer. But we have been able to spend the whole summer in California going to the beach and having fun so what more could you honestly ask for....well honestly I would much rather be with you guys back at home. It is only a few more weeks though we are planning on leaving on the 25th late at night after Joe gets off work. Then it will be back to school for me on that following Monday I am not to excited except then it means that I am that much closer to graduating!! Wahoo!! Joe will be working for his brother this semester so we can make some money. Well the summer has been great though really we have met a lot of good people and we have got to play at the beach a lot! We have had some great visitors as well!! I am just finishing up my class this week and I am awfully excited for that, no more Chemistry after this week (lets hope ha ha) Well thanks for all your posts it is good to hear how everyone is doing. Love you all and I will write again! ~Lea

Update

Well, I just wanted to mention to everybody that might not have heard that I am now on my last semester at SUU. I was planning on another year, but I had too many hours to get financial aid past this semester. I think Lea only had one year left so I was going to graduate with her, but I guess not now. After I graduate I will do something, but at this point it is still hazy at best. I gave a good rant version of my planning problems on my personal blog. I do have some hope though and at least I have options so that is nice. Well, I am glad we are getting some posting here. Thanks and bye for now

Dad and Tonia

I went to see Dad and he let me take his photo with me I told him he was suppose to smile and he said I did. He is still the same from the times I saw him in the Hospital it is just his body that is giving out more.
