Grand Canyon South Rim

We made it to the Grand Canyon and home again. We had a great time even with the cold rainy weather. We road buses up and down the rim to see everything. We will have to go again with more of the family and in a little warmer weather.

I was excited to see how many potatoes I dug up. The big one was fun to pull out and a surprise. They all filled a 5 gal bucket.

We had a good time at the Wedding. Thought I would post the pictures. The last one isn't very good but it had everyone in it.

August's Project

It has been a project for more than August but came to a head when it really rained at the house. The rain gutter was bent so rain would pour off the house into the window wells. They moved dirt to protect the house and make a ditch for the water to run down. We fixed the rain gutter so that helped.
Sally had wanted a larger play area for the kids so Nathan had come over and moved dirt before the big rain.

When Dave went to Florida, Sally needed something to do so she called and we put in sprinklers and buried the drain pipes. We got tired of digging up rocks.

Ben came and helped level and do the wall. Which turned out great. Sally has a place for a garden between the two walls.

Yesterday Nathan and a friend came and helped put down the sod. It would of taken Sally and I five times as long. They had it done in an hour.

Sea World night

So last night was a big main event. We were all bussed over to Sea World were we first had a buffet dinner with more crab then I could have ever eaten (If I could have eaten any). There was also shrimp and salmon so I was in heaven. While we were eating and waiting for the Shamu show they brought out this Turtle it was so funny it would just walk around and go where it wanted even with lots of people standing around. They also had a DJ playing music and people dancing. A little while later they were finally ready for the show. It was so fun and amazing to watch they have the Whales trained so well. It was fun. After the show they had us go to the other part of the park where the roller coasters were and the park was closed by then so we were the only ones in the park all 2000 maybe I really don't know how many went to the event but it was not to bad. Jon and his friend from the bank road a roller coasters while I watched and then we walked around and play a game and they also had the penguin exhibit open to go in that was really neat also. It was a great time and fun night. On our way out was when we saw the Pink Flamingos they were cute.

May 24 Snow

They said we might wake up to two inches. Luckily it wasn't that much. I am ready to plant flowers and the garden but can't if this keeps happening ever week or so.

Green River May trip

I went to Green River Friday and Saturday to pick up Kya who had been visiting for a week. We had a good visit and I got to play with Kenlee. She crawls around fast with a foot push crawl. It is really cute how she does it. She will probably be walking soon. We went to the Powell museum Saturday the wind was so bad we didn't want to do anything outside. Joe, Lea, and Kya went golfing the Friday afternoon in the wind, while I tended a sleeping Kenlee and played with Ruger.

School projects

Karina needed help with a book report. She wanted a hour glass. I don't remember the name of the book. We had fun building it. We are not sure how long it really runs. We will have to try it out sometime.

Snow, snow, snow, when will we warm up?

If you notice the dates we woke up to snow on the May 2. The next picture showed it snowing during the day.

During the week the weather was nice even hot a couple of days. I planted tomatoes and some peppers. Yesterday I planted the Tomatillos, which needed to get out of the house. I have plastic domes, which will protect them because today when I got up and looked outside more snow. It isn't much but it is snow and is cold so would of frozen them all. Maybe we can get the garden in in June. I had it planted on May 1 last year.
