Remembering President Hinckley
In my Relief Society lesson today, the teacher talked about how she was fortunate enough to attend President Hinckley's viewing. She talked about the reverence of the people and atmosphere. President Hinckley's casket was surrounded by flower arrangements from groups such as the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, the Quorum of the Seventy, the Presiding Bishopric and others who knew him through his service in the Church. In a separate room were the flower arrangements from his family. She approached one of the arrangements, a bouquet, that was given by President Hinckley's great-grandchildren. She said it read something like this, "Dear Grandpa, We will be grateful, be smart, be clean, be true, be humble, be prayerful. Love, your great-grandchildren" I was truly touched as she spoke about how President Hinckley's family shared their grandpa with all of us. I am thankful to them for their love and support of their grandpa's dedication and love for the gospel and for each of us.
